Supporting Those Who Nourish Their Communities Through Nutrition Education

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) will officially sunset on September 30, 2026, marking the end of a program that, for more than 30 years, helped millions of individuals and families build healthy eating habits, increase food security, and improve community health.

While the federal SNAP-Ed program is ending, the need for nutrition education, nutrition security, and healthy communities has never been greater. ASNNA is committed to supporting the professionals, organizations, and partners who are advancing community nutrition and to helping shape the future of nutrition education through collaboration, leadership, innovation, and advocacy.

The Association of SNAP Nutrition Education Administrators (ASNNA), the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the National Grocers Association, the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB), The Food Trust, and Leah’s Pantry, are inviting state and national organizations to endorse the Nutrition Innovation and Infrastructure Initiativea proposal to establish a national nutrition education and physical activity program that helps states and communities support healthy eating, physical activity, disease prevention, and long-term health.

This initiative builds on the valuable work and infrastructure established through SNAP-Ed while presenting a forward-looking and viable framework for moving nutrition education forward.
